The Youth Action for Sustainable Development Organisation was established primarily to foster youth engagement and participation in the post-2015 development era. We understand that for Malawi to develop and achieve the targets set in the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), young people who constitute the largest percentage of the country's populations need to play an active and leading role in national building agenda.
The mission of the organisation is to promote leadership and capacity of the youth of Malawi to actively take part in implementation and monitoring of Sustainable Development Goals.
The organisation envisions a capable youth with demonstrable leadership and expertise in implementing and monitoring sustainable development.
The organisation shall always endeavour to believe and conduct itself in the way that demonstrates that it appreciates the sanctity of life and that the dignity of all human beings deserves to be protected at all cost.
The organisation shall conduct all "business" transactions in an open manner at all levels, and every transaction or decision shall be accounted for.
The organisation shall endeavour to always believe in and subscribe to TRUTH and JUSTICE even under the most difficult circumstances.
The organisation shall endeavour to spend within budgets and that it shall always be driven by the principle of value for money.
The organisation shall always be committed to ensuring gender equality at all levels within the organisation structures and in the communities where we work.
The organisation shall always believe in working with other structures in society that share in the vision, mission and values of the organisation.
The organisation shall always inspire a spirit of active citizenship in its staff, the Malawian youth and all partners at all levels.
The organisation shall always commit to acting with high standards of integrity and a drive for excellence.
The organisation shall always commit to treating information about its staff, project beneficiaries, partners and everyone else with strict confidentiality.
The organisation shall always promote inclusion of people in society and in all its programs regardless of sex, ethnicity, race, disability, sexual orientation, social status, religion, or political affiliation.
The organisation believes and holds that increased knowledge and skills development in young people are recipes for socio-economic development, creation of unified and resilient communities, foster good governance and social inclusion and lead to effective, tangible and sustainable development.
